When we were young, my father,
He told us all a story
Of that mighty warrior, Gideon of old,
Who, in the trials and ev'ry kind of doubt,
Put his faith in Love.
One day, the angel of the Lord came and told him,
"Go and save my people in the strength you have.
Don't worry at all. For, I am gonna send you.
And, I will stay by your side."
Put your hope in God, our rock and salvation.
For, He'll never leave you nor forsake you, my son.
And His promise never fails.
Days will come when we must tear down all our idols.
Only then can the Lord make use of us.
Fight the fight, break through the darkest night.
Let shine on grace-light.
Light up the way for us.
Lord, come show Your power.
In our own strength, we're no match facing foes.
Let redemption's horn cry out and save.

"The Chronicles of Gideon" is an EP celebrating and dedicated to my first and newborn son, Gideon. It is also a thank you to God for the miracle of his life. For, every child born has the potential to grow up and make a difference in the world, whether great or small.
Inspired by the story of his namesake in the Old Testament's "Book Of Judges" (chapters 6-8), as well as the story yet to be written that God has in store for his life, this music is my hope and prayer that Gideon's heart, mind, soul and strength will one day yearn for that of his Father in heaven. I'd like him to understand what it means to wait on The Lord's timing and put trust in His strength.
The biblical Gideon waited on God to confirm His plans through the sign of a fleece to miraculously become soaked in dew overnight. And God showed up. Then God asked Gideon to reduce the head count of his army to a number that, by human understanding, was no match against that of his enemy. Yet, that way Gideon couldn't boast that the strength of his army won the battle. He could only give thanks and Praise to God. And God showed up.

Put your hopes, anxieties, fears, whatever you're dealing with, into God's hands. He knows your every thought and desire. The Psalmist in Psalm 139:13-14 even writes: "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." So, how much more will He pull you through the very plans that He has for you?
